Our client, a leading provider of supply chain solutions, has been serving customers’ needs since the ’80s. It started as a freight brokerage specializing in produce and other commodities and has since grown into an asset-light company with terminals in Florida and California. Our client has a strong focus on shared truckload (TL) shipping and consolidated, multi-stop TL services.

Job Description:

As the Inside Sales Manager, you will be responsible for developing the industry and sales knowledge of the inside sales team. Your primary focus will be on pipeline development, closing business, managing accounts, spot market pricing, and other key sales activities. By setting profit goals for the team and fostering a culture of accountability, you will drive their performance and ensure consistent results. Additionally, you will play a key role in the hiring process by interviewing sales candidates to meet hiring and headcount goals. Your ability to effectively communicate the value of the company’s service offerings will be essential to motivate and inspire the team.

Responsibilities:

– Develop inside sales representatives’ industry and sales knowledge, including pipeline development, closing business, managing accounts, spot market pricing, and other relevant areas.

– Set profit goals for the team and maintain a culture of accountability to drive their performance.

– Interview sales candidates to meet hiring and headcount goals, ensuring the team is equipped with top talent.

– Effectively communicate the value of the company’s service offerings and motivate the team to achieve sales targets.

– Collaborate with other departments and teams to optimize sales processes and enhance customer satisfaction.

– Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape to identify new opportunities.

Ideal Candidate Profile

– Bachelor’s degree required.

– Minimum of 3+ years of experience in logistics inside sales.

– Demonstrated success in selling a combination of service offerings, such as truckload, LTL, intermodal, expedited, etc.

– Previous experience in sales management is preferred.

– Ability to work as a player/coach, leading by example and providing guidance to the team.

– High energy and positive attitude, inspiring motivation and fostering a collaborative work environment.

– Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to find effective solutions.

– Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey the value of the company’s services.

– Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic sales environment.

-Must currently be employed, or most recently employed in the trucking/freight brokerage industry
