Key Account Manager

POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Key Account Manager (Ingredient Division) is responsible for managing the company’s largest accounts, developing a deep pipeline of new opportunities, and fostering strong working relationships with these accounts. The Key Account Manager will be the lead point of contact and anticipate the client needs. Additionally, the incumbent will develop and close new business and will develop relationships with potential clients.




1.        Act as the main point of contact for the company’s clients.

2.        Establish, build, and maintain strong relationships with clients to build trust

3         Respond to clients inquires received via email, phone, and fax.

4.        Taking orders and quoting prices on specific products and quantities from customer requests.

5.        Actively listen to each customer in order to gain a perfect understanding of their individual needs and business.

6.        Coordinate with customers in assessing their long-term needs by requesting their monthly, quarterly, and yearly forecasts usage.

7.        Resolve problems by investigating the presented issues, consulting with other departments and/or researching under the specific client’s account

8.        Collaborate with various departments and team members in order to solve inquiries

9.        Provide shipping estimates and secure transportation for customer’s orders ranging from ground parcel, LTL, and full truckloads.

10.      Provide sales literature and support information to the customers as required.

11.      Properly manage customer’s expectations and follow through with commitments

12.      Identify revenue opportunities for the customers and the company

13.      Responsible to develop new client sales accounts, through lead generation and personal sales initiative, in line with departmental sales goals and individual sales goals.

14.      Assist in contract proposals and agreements with customers.

15.      Occasional outside sales effort for the purpose of soliciting new clients or enhancing client relations. Support sales efforts at trade shows and various industry functions.

16.      Perform various duties and assist on projects as assigned by Sales manager

20.      Collaborating with sales team to maximize up-selling or cross-selling

21.      Meeting all client needs and deliverables according to proposed timelines



                                   POSITION SPECIFICATIONS



1.        BS or BA Degree 

2.        5-10 years’ experience, preferably in spice, botanical, and ingredients category

3.        Must be a team player with a positive attitude and growth mindset.

4.        Must have excellent time management skills to ensure customer needs are met.

5.        Self-starter with the ability to quickly adapt to changing demands.

6.        Ability to critical think and problem solve.

7.        Excellent English communications skills. Organizational and multi-task oriented.

8.        Must demonstrate good math skills.

9.        Previous inside sales with heavy customer contact involving sales and customer service.

10.      Ability to negotiate contracts and pricing.

11.      Excellent interpersonal relationship skills.

12.      Basic computer skills including the Microsoft Office Suite.

13.      Ability to multi-task and manage more than one client account.

14.      Proven results of meeting sales goals.





1.        Sales experience in the Natural Products or Food Manufacturing Industries involving ingredient or technical sales.

2.        A technical or science-oriented background.

3.        Master’s degree a plus
