Market Manager – Denver

Role Summary

The Market Manager is responsible for promoting, selling, and merchandising the entire brand portfolio of GBT products and services to the assigned distributor within the assigned area(s), within the allotted parameters, to stay in line with GBT’s business objectives. The person in this role will develop and maintain direct client relationships and support channel partners (On and Off Premise). The Market Manager is self-motivated, embraces business travel, and presents the brand portfolio with a high level of professionalism while working directly with both distributors and account customers. This role will report to the assigned Division Manager.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to:

  • Customer Management and Relationship
  • Maintain daily call frequency of visiting and merchandising the top on and off-premise 100% agave spirits accounts
  • Conduct brand educational training for assigned distributor(s) and on and off-premise retailer partners
  •  Monitor and ensure distributors and retailers have enough inventory to meet market and customer fulfillment needs.
  • Analyze sales per product and performance of marketing activity based on monthly customer reports and work with distributor and GBT management to implement corrective measures, as needed.
  • Conduct daily market visits, including merchandising services, distributor work-with days, and key on and off-premise retailer visits.
  • Support GBT management to prepare and conduct distributor General Sales Meetings and other distributor related meetings.
  • Manage distributor sales representatives in territory to contribute and execute against GBT KPIs and sales objectives, with a focus on targeted 100% agave spirits accounts in highly concentrated population areas with the greatest sales lift.

Sales Planning and Budget

  • Collaborate with Division Manager and team to develop AOP, tactical marketing plans and promotions, distributor sales promotions, ongoing depletion and shipment trends, brand trends, and market analysis.
  • Monitor and manage investment spending and adhere to budget compliance.
  • Timely submission of reports such as T&E, market audits, KPI’s, and additional sales related reports.

 

Perform Market Activities

  • Drive sales, build market share, and increase brand awareness by merchandising existing accounts, seeking additional points of distribution (PODs), and prospecting for new retail accounts under the direction of the Division Manager.
  • Establish relationships with key retailer accounts and distributor sales and management teams.
  • Perform daily store and market visits, consumer promotions and GBT brand samplings.
  • Ensure key retail accounts have the proper POS materials to best present GBT’s brands.
  • Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and other industry events to educate on the characteristics and uniqueness of GBTs products.
  • Ensure key retail accounts have the proper POS materials to best present GBT’s brands and are properly displayed.
  • Perform merchandising activities, constructing displays, and stocking products in retail accounts as permitted/requested by GBT Division Manager, distributor / sales management team, or key on and off-premise retail customers.
  • Install promotional POS off and on-premise to achieve display and merchandising objectives.

Related duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

  • Normal for street working environment.
  • Significant local travel to visit current and potential clients, including but not limited to, restaurants, bars, hotels, liquor stores, grocery stores, and other retailers.
  • Flexible scheduling including a willingness to work weekends and/or evenings, as needed.
  • Occasional overnight travel.
  • may require lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 35 pounds.
  • Physical demands with activity or condition may include walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping.

 

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, and/or 2 + years of work experience in the alcoholic-beverage industry.
  • Proficient knowledge of the adult-beverage industry, compliance, and competitive landscape.
  • Proven history in building good relationships with internal associates.
  • Experience with VIP & KARMA, a plus.

 

Additional Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Proof of a valid driver’s license.
  • Proof of valid vehicle insurance.
  • Pass a background check – criminal, employment verification, and driving record.
