VP – West Region

POSITION OVERVIEW

  • Direct strategy for the West Region with regional P&L responsibility.
  • Lead a team of 9 sales people spread across 9 states.
  • Build, foster and grow first class relationships with our distribution network and key customers.
  • Develop and maintain the highest quality standards of retail and on premise execution in order to deliver annual targets.
  • Lead our distributors to flawless execution across Market, especially during key selling periods .
  • Produce key performance reports showcasing the region performance to various stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with HQ marketing department to execute local marketing events & initiatives to grow brand awareness.
  • Demonstrate high emotional intelligence as well as strong business acumen / judgement in your daily activity.
  • Conduct yourself as a leader on the commercial leadership team and contribute new ideas to accelerate sales growth.
  • Drive the business in regional retail chains across the West.
  • Control inventory flow so that both out of stocks and excess inventory are avoided.
  • Direct POS, feature and display activities to ensure excellent execution and maximum effectiveness during key selling periods.
  • Ensure direct reports use sales systems to develop metrics, gauge progress and measure successes and to identify opportunities for growth and profitability.
  • Ensure relationships with key/high image accounts are developed.
  • Survey the market regularly.
  • Ensure preferred supplier status with distributors, agencies, retailers, business partners within assigned market
  • Coach your team so that they can continue to grow within the organization.
  • Set, track and evaluate distributor KPIs, based on brand/market priorities; take corrective action as necessary
  • Plan and manage budgets and brand allocations.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with distributor GMs.
  • Educate yourself regularly on industry news and maintain your knowledge of trends and happenings
  • Attend distributor sales meetings and provide feedback to market managers on presentation skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 10+ years business experience in a sales leadership role within the beverage industry.
  • Prior experience in beverage alcohol preferred.
  • Prior experience in both large and small companies strongly preferred.
  • Strong people leadership and communication skills. Strong system and management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of sales techniques in on/off trade and national/regional accounts.
  • Strong existing relationships with the Southern Glazers distributor network.
